Members of Mayo Mountain Rescue stretchered a lady off Croagh Patrick following a fall
A FEMALE who suffered a leg injury following a fall on Croagh Patrick had to be stretchered off the holy Mayo mountain before being taken to hospital.
Members of Mayo Mountain Rescue were called to an incident on Croagh Patrick at approximately 2.30pm on Wednesday afternoon where a woman was reported to have fallen.

The female sustained a lower leg injury while descending the mountain and attempted to keep walking with the help of a friend. However her condition deteriorated and as a result the emergency services were alerted.
The casualty was located by the Mayo Mountain Rescue team at approximately 3.30pm and they provided immediate medical attention.
The stretcher party arrived shortly afterwards and stretchered the woman to a waiting ambulance at the foot of the reek. She was transferred to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar where she received further treatment for her injuries.
