Mayo town introduces autism friendly space for St Patrick's Day

A Mayo town has announced plans for a more inclusive St Patrick's Day experience. 

Westport Autism Friendly Town, with the support of Westport parish priest John Kenny, introduces their first-ever Relaxed Space at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Westport!

The slogan is "A relaxed space for all - Celebrating St Patrick's Day together."

"This special area is designed for individuals with autism and sensory sensitivities to enjoy the celebrations in a calm and comfortable environment," the organisation Westport Autism Friendly Town writes on their social media.

"Everyone deserves to be part of the fun, and we’re so proud to be taking this step towards greater inclusivity in our town!
A huge thank you to Fr. Kenny and all who support making Westport a truly Autism-Friendly Town."
