The much-loved statue in Westport was removed for a touch-up on Monday afternoon

He's back: Mayo's Paddington Bear returns home

After four days away receiving some much-needed touch-ups, Mayo's favourite bear Paddington has returned to his home in Westport.

On Monday, Mayo County Council announced that the much-loved landmark on the Fairgreen was to be removed to perform repairs to his paintwork.

Now, after four days, the statue is back in place, much to the happiness of tourists and locals.
