Moorehall Nature Reserve and Walled Garden has set out a master plan which includes the restoration of Moorehall House.

Tenders are now being sought for Quantity Surveying Consulting Services to support the next phase of works for the development of a nature reserve and walled garden in Mayo.

Moorehall Nature Reserve and Walled Garden has set out a master plan which includes the restoration of Moorehall House, the revival of the historic Walled Garden, the creation of a visitor centre, and strong protections for the Lesser Horseshoe Bat.

The plans will also include enhanced walking trials, woodland management, and wider biodiversity improvements.

Speaking on the tender, Minister of State Alan Dillon, stated that it marks another important step in moving the project from planning into delivery and reflects the Council’s commitment to advancing this nationally significant site.

He further emphasised that the project is not only about conserving heritage but also about supporting local enterprise and rural development.

He concluded by stating that he looks forward to further progress and stressed that each step brings the community closer to realising the full potential of Moorehall as a place of heritage, nature, and local pride.
