Repairs are due to be completed later this evening with Uisce Éireann working on the matter.
Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a significant burst to a water main in Swinford.
Customers in the Mayo town and surrounding areas may be experiencing a disruption to their water supply as a result of the burst. Crews are on the ground and are working to return a normal supply as quickly as possible.
Repairs are due to be completed later this evening. In the meantime, an alternative water supply is available to customers affected at Swinford Hospital, outside the Gateway Hotel and Mellett's Public House. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Following repairs it typically takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
