Local owner sees glory at Ballinrobe Racecourse

There was another local winner at the recent running of the Ballinrobe races which occurred yesterday, Monday, August 25.

A large crowd came out once again to the Mayo Racecourse which saw a local owner in the winning enclosure. 

The Hillary McLoughlin trained ‘Nothing Hectic’ claimed glory in the Paddy Smyth Memorial Mares Maiden Hurdle which went off at 17.43. Talented jockey Darragh O’Keefe led the horse owned by Ballinrobe businessman Tim Kelly passed the post first as the 5/4 favourite won in an impressive manner, running out winner by 3.5 lengths. In the green and red colours, O’Keefe’s mount proved popular with many people who were in attendance.

Owner Tim Kelly is also a committee member at Ballinrobe Racecourse as the local businessman enjoyed victory.

The next meeting of Ballinrobe Races will take place on Friday, September 12 with eight races of National Hunt racing on display. The first race will go off at 3.55pm with the final race going to post at 7.30pm. A large crowd is expected at the track as it's the last meeting of the year.
