Anthony O'Neill has stepped away from his role with Westport United.
Speculation is rife in Mayo soccer circles this afternoon after Anthony O'Neill stepped down as Westport United Director of Football and first team boss. The renowned coach has been in charge of The Covies for the past year and his departure has come as something of a shock.
O'Neill has an impressive background in football and is a UEFA A License holder.
His career spans multiple levels of football management and coaching. His journey includes time at Galway United FC, where he held roles as First Team Coach and Youth Head Coach and has developed a reputation for nurturing young talent and implementing effective coaching strategies. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management.
It remains to be seen what his next move will be, but The Mayo News understands the League of Ireland will be his next destination.
