Castlebar Celtic manager Stevie Gavin has issued a rallying cry to supporters of the side as the Mayo side prepare for their date with destiny in this weekend’s Connacht Cup final.
The hoops are on the cusp of history as they make their way from the county town to Headford for their duel with Mervue United on Sunday at 3 pm.

Now, three days out from the historic occasion, the man in the dugout has urged the fans to get out and row in behind his soldiers.
“On behalf of myself, Dec (assistant manager Declan Flynn), and all the players, I would just like to thank you all for your unwavering and unrivalled support over the past few years,” Gavin stated.
“The bond between this group of players and supporters is unique, tangible, and you really are our 12th man. As we face into a huge challenge this weekend against a formidable side in Mervue, I am calling on the hooped army to get out in big numbers and turn Headford green and white, and really bring the noise to help this group of young men step into history,” he concluded.
