Sadness in Westport at sudden death of local man on Greek Island

Family of Westport man thank the community, Kevin Bell and Department of Foreign Affairs for their support
The family of Westport man Rhys Conway, who was found dead in Corfu last week, are extemely grateful for the kindness from the community and have thanked all of the friends and family for their support throughout this difficult time.
“I would like to thank all the people in Westport for the support they have given us over the last couple of days, because it has been unreal”, Rhys’ mum, Linda Claxton, told The Mayo News.
Linda is also quick to thank The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, which helps bereaved families repatriating the body of loved ones who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland.
“Without them, I couldn't have done any of this. They swept in from day one and took over everything for me, the paperwork and kept me informed on what is happening.”
Rhys' parents Linda Claxton and Kenneth Conway hope to bring their son home to Westport later this week.
In a post on Facebook, Kenneth, wrote “the Kevin Bell Trust and many others have been so good and doing there best to make this nightmare as smooth as possible.”
He also thanked the Department of Foreign Affairs and Irish Embassy in Athens, who “have been such a strength at this incredible difficult time.”
Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.
