MONDAY marked a proud day for Harry West, as he became the latest Mayo man to sign a professional contract with Connacht Rugby.
West, aged 22, already has a glittering CV before penning his first pro deal with the province, having represented his nation in the Under-20 Six Nations, as well as at the 2023 Under-20 World Cup in South Africa.

The promising prospect plies his trade at full-back, having previously played at fly-half.
The former underage player with his native Ballina RFC will link up with fellow Mayo and Ballina native Dave Heffernan as the men in green gear up for the new season.
Chairman of Ballina RFC, Alan Rowe, said it was a proud day for everyone involved. "Congratulations to Harry, his family and everyone who helped him along the way. His great news is just another example of the wonderful work being undertaken at Ballina RFC and the wonderful coaching our boys and girls get here in Heffernan Park. We would like to wish Harry the very best of luck with Connacht and look forward to seeing him flourish over the coming months and years."
