RIP: Wave of tributes following death of renowned Mayo man

THE death took place recently of Bill Power, Mountain, Aghamore, Mayo. Bill was a kind natured and good humoured gentleman who always made time for people and who loved to stop and chat.

The family resided in Manchester for several years where many remember them with special fondness from those times.

His neighbours, John and Catherine Hynes, were among those who joined in the tributes. “Bill was a lovely kind man and a great neighbour. He always had a good word for everyone and we will miss him greatly.”

Joe and Ann Hosty, Lavallyroe, stated: “Bill was a true gentleman, friendly and knowledgeable, and it was a pleasure to meet him in town.”

Interment took place in Aghamore cemetery following Requiem Mass celebrated by Fr Jerald David in Joseph’s Church.

Bill will be deeply missed by his wife Ellen, son William, daughter Ellen, daughter-in-law Karen, son-in-law Desmond, his grandchildren Leanne, Melanie, Wesley, Vanessa and Lauren, his sister Josie (UK), his nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.
