RIP: Local woman fondly remembered in Mayo upon passing

Bernadette (Bernie) Donnellan (née Flatley), Culkeen, Cloonfad, RIP

THE death took place last week at Claremount Nursing Home last week of Bernadette (Bernie) Donnellan (née Flatley), Culkeen, Cloonfad.

Bernie was an esteemed member of the local community down through the decades and was noted for her warm personality and fine sense of humour.

She was a kind and gentle lady and a good neighbour who commanded great regard around the region and who always made time for people.

Eddie and Teresa Birmingham, Cloonfad, were among those joining in the tributes to her. “Bernie was
such a lovely lady it was always a pleasure to meet her. She always had a lovely smile and time for a chat.

"We have great memories of our times together when our children were young and our social outings were craft classes.”

Ballyhaunis Golf Club also joined in the tributes when extending condolences to her daughter Denise who is the current Lady Captain at the Club.

Reposing was at the PJ Keane Funeral Home on Saturday evening with interment in Cloonfad Cemetery following Mass of the Resurrection on Sunday.

Bernie, who was predeceased by her husband PJ, her infant son Brian, brothers Martin and Phil and her sister Mary, will be fondly remembered by her sons Pat, Michael, Eamon and Philip, daughters Ursula, Fiona and Denise, her brothers Brian, Sean, Michael and Eamon and sisters Margaret and Noreen, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, her 16 grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
