The Mayo Junior Pool Championships are on this weekend. Entry is open to anyone aged under 18 from anywhere in Mayo , boys & girls.
Pool is becoming increasingly popular in the county. There are over 30 players representing Mayo in the All Irelands in Wexford in late March.
Additionally, more than 70 players are now playing competitions and attending coaching and practice sessions.
Just this week, Westport man Danny Feehan participated at his first senior European Championships in Cyprus, playing against the World number one Tom Cousins.

Feehan and Geesala man Padraic Coyle won gold at the U-23 European Championship last year.
The Mayo Junior championships start this Friday. These take place in McGraths Pool Events venue in Pullatomas in Erris, with a competitions schedule here:
The Mayo Pool Association would like to thank Eoghan McGrath for hosting and running weekly mini competitions to improve their players.

Pool is an all inclusive sport and there are kids doing well in competitions who aren’t as competent in other sports.
