Mayo pickleball club wins medals at Munster Open Tournament

Newport Pickleball Club competed in the Munster Open Tournament in Tralee last weekend and returned with a handful of well-earned medals.

After very competitive early rounds, Newport players fought their way through to 60+ Ladies’ and Mixed Doubles semi-finals, and the 60+ Men’s Final.

Spurred on by Newport supporters, Sarah Coyle & Louise Staines took bronze in the Ladies’ semi-final, Sarah Coyle & Russell Poole took bronze in the Mixed semi-final, and to cap it all Michael Groden & Seo McNally beat last year’s number one pair in the semi-final and then took gold in the final.

This places them (at least for now) at the top of the 60+ Ireland men’s rankings.
