Javelin joy for Mayo athlete in Scottish U-17 Championships

Another Mayo sports chapter was written in the javelin success story of Lake District AC recently when Barry Langan won the Scottish U-17 Championships in Grangemouth. The talented Ballinrobe athlete followed in the footsteps of his clubmate Oisin Joyce who won a bronze medal at the World U-20 Championships in Peru.

Barry was part of the Irish squad of 34 athletes competing at the event in Scotland and threw an impressive Personal Best of 56.24m – almost twelve meters ahead of Scotland’s Callum James in second place.
