From Between the Canals to Love/Hate to The Banshees of Inisherin, Barry Keoghan has come along way since his acting debut in 2011. It was Love/Hate that put him on the map but also in hot water when it came to one infamous scene which sparked public uproar.
Keoghan joined the Love/Hate cast in the role of 'Wayne' who quickly became known to viewers as the baby-faced 'cat killer' so much so that former host of the Late Late Show Ryan Tubridy decided to set the record straight with RTÉ viewers.
The feline actor whose cameo appearance ends in horror was brought on stage during a broadcast on the Late Late Show on Friday October 12, 2013. Ryan Tubridy held Cleo momentarily for the audience to reassure them she was alive and well before she made suddenly made her escape backstage.

The Love/Hate actor has since moved on to bigger projects in film and television including roles as the Joker in Batman alongside Robert Pattinson, Peaky Blinders and Dunkirk. Though Keoghan as admitted in interviews over the years that he has not been able to escape Irish public memory as the 'cat killer'.
In an interview with Ray D'Arcy in 2023, Keoghan told the radio show host that after the infamous cat scene, people started staying away from him. He said: "I was away filming in England when all that came out and I kept being sent pictures of papers with me on the front of me. I thought 'What's going on here?',"
Vogue Williams compounded this connotation for Barry in an exclusive interview with the Mirror where she praised him for his amazing acting in Saltburn but said that while she thinks he's super talented, she also thinks he'll always be known as the 'cat killer'.
