Searches have been carried out in Ireland and Spain as part of a major operation targeting the activities of an organised crime group that has gone international.
The group are suspected to be involved in money laundering across a number of jurisdictions.
Gardaí from the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI) are present in Spain, this Wednesday, supporting the Guardia Civil during this process.
Ten searches have already been conducted in Spain.
One search has already taken place at a home in Dublin following an International Letter of Request from the Spanish authorities. This search was carried out by gardaí attached to the GNBCI.

An officer from the Guardia Civil was in attendance, with the search being supported by the Criminal Assets Bureau and the Emergency Response Unit.
"This morning’s operation is part of ongoing liaison between the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Guardia Civil in Spain, which targets a Transnational Organised Crime Group who are located both in Ireland and Spain. A previous search targeting the group was conducted in Lanzarote in June 2022 by Guardia Civil on behalf of GNBCI," said a garda spokesperson.
