Comedian John Bishop joked live on-air that Today FM's Dave Moore looks 'younger and fresher' following departure of his co-host Dermot Whelan.

John had not been in studio as a Today FM guest with Dave since his counterpart Dermot left the show as a host in August 2023.

The popular comedian joked that Dave 'had a spring in his step' since the 'divorce', referencing the split of the pair.

"This is the first time I've been in since your divorce," he said.

"You seem like a lot of people who've had a divorce, you look younger and fresher, you've lost weight, there's a little spring in your step!"

The famous Dermot and Dave duo were paired as radio hosts of their own show on Today FM in 2002. The iconic pair hosted their weekday show for over 21 years together, until Limerick man Dermot announced his departure in August last.

Dave replied to John Bishop in the interview, saying: "I feel great, I miss Dermot all the time" to which John joked, responding: "Let's be honest, he's dead to you now!"

The two erupted in laughter live on-air, with John saying: "You're delivering the happiness, while he's doing some deep breathing somewhere".
