Two Lotto winners have come forward to claim hundreds of thousands after the New Year's Eve and Leap Day draws.
A Dublin resident is basking in the glory of an unexpected windfall after officially claiming the Tier 2 prize from the 29th February draw. The prize consists of €2,000 per month for five years from the National Lottery Headquarters.
The EuroDreams game, the first annuity-type lottery in Ireland, offers winners a unique experience by providing monthly payments over several years instead of a lump-sum jackpot.
The anonymous online player expressed their surprise at receiving a call from the Prize Claims team just one day after the draw. Recounting the moment, the winner said: "I got a call from the Claims Manager the day after the draw, and he told me he had a bit of good news for me and then told me exactly what I had won. It’s not a call that I was expecting to receive, so there may have been a few expletives used during that conversation."
The winner also shared their disbelief at the turn of events, considering the initial prize was a mere €2.50: "I still can’t believe I won, even while sitting here. The first plan of action is to go on a big holiday to celebrate, and then we’ll see from there!"
In another exciting development, a Rebel County Millionaire Raffle player from Cork has stepped forward to claim their €100,000 prize from the New Year’s Eve draw.
The lucky Cork resident purchased their ticket at Friars Road Post Office in Turners Cross, and arrangements are underway for them to collect their prize at Lotto HQ.
