Comedian Rory O'Connor or better known as Rory's Stories and Dublin GAA star Philly McMahon released a RTÉ documentary called Gaelic in the Joy in which they ran a unique educational and sports programme in Mountjoy Prison.
It was reported in 2018 that McMahon was visiting prisoners at Mountjoy Prison in an effort to help them to turn their lives around and began mentoring inmates at the prison's progression unit.
One inmate took the hearts of viewers, Jordan, with his honesty.
Jordan has been released from Mount Joy and Rory shared a picture to his Facebook page saying: “There are lots of bad news stories out there at the minute, but here's a good one! Some of you might remember Jordan from our documentary in Mount Joy prison last year. Lots of people took a shine to him, as he was honest and vulnerable. Well, it's great to say he's officially a free man now. Met up with him today. He's off the drink and drugs, does his meetings, is in serious shape, and is rearing to go. He starts a new job next week. He treated himself to a hot chocolate with marshmallows to celebrate. Some people just need a second chance. Yup Jordan!”
