Ten people have died on Irish roads in five separate road collisions in the past five days.
According to Gardaí, a total of 124 people have died so far this year, with 23 road deaths recorded in August 2023 alone.
This year's total figure is an increase of 24 deaths on the number of road deaths recorded at the same time in 2022.
Four young people tragically died in Clonmel, Co Tipperary in a single vehicle collision on Friday August 25; three of the passengers had received their Leaving Certificate results earlier that day.
The funerals of Zoey Coffey, Nicole Murphy, Grace McSweeney and Luke McSweeney are due to take place over the coming days.
Tragedy struck Tipperary for a second time yesterday (August 29) when a vehicle collided with a wall in the Windmill Knockbulloge area of Cashel shortly before 9pm.
Three people including a three-year-old infant boy died in the collision.
According to Gardaí, two others - a man and a woman - are currently battling "serious injuries" in hospital.
Gardaí attended the scene of two fatal single vehicle collisions on Sunday evening (August 27).
The first was on the R357 at Mullaghhatour, Belmont, Co Offaly at approximately 6.45pm.
A motorcyclist aged in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore.
The second collision attended by emergency services occurred at Junction 1 Southbound of the M1/M50 slip road in Dublin shortly after 7pm.
A motorcyclist aged in his 40s was later pronounced deceased at the scene and his body was removed to Beaumont Hospital.
Gardaí also attended the scene of a fatal single vehicle collision in Carrowreagh, Bridge End, Co Donegal yesterday morning (August 29).
The male driver of the car (aged in his 40s) was pronounced deceased at the scene and his body has been removed to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to any of the collisions to come forward with information.
