N17 set for increased traffic due to Mayo road closure

The closure is set to impact road users in the region later in this month.
Mayo County Council has confirmed that a road closure in the east of the county is set to take place across a period of two weeks.
The closure will take four days between Monday, August 17, and Friday, August 28.
The works circle around the R-325 Glentavraun-Loughglinn road in the townlands of Sonvolaun and Cloonnamna.
Commuters are advised by the Council to use the N17, N5 and R-293 as an alternative, with the option also available via the N83.
A map displaying the exact portion of road due for closure is available at the Mayo County Council offices on Kilcolman Road in Claremorris.
