Top chef Catherine Fulvio is encouraging TY students in Mayo to get involved.

Transition Year students in Mayo are being encouraged by chef Catherine Fulvio to help out the country’s hospices.

The annual Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice will be backed by the Ballyknocken Cookery School and will take place on September 25.

Every school that registers to host a coffee morning at hospicecoffeemorning.ie and returns their funds before November 14, will be entered into a draw to win two free places on Catherine’s TY online cookery course, plus a cash prize of €1,000, donated by Bewley’s.

Acclaimed chef Catherine Fulvio said, “Hosts have been gathering friends, family, colleagues, and neighbours to help raise funds for an amazing cause for over 30 years.”

Catherine says there are numerous ways that Mayo students can get involved.

“This year, we want to encourage the new generation of coffee morning hosts in Mayo to get involved. So get creative - have a cupcake decorating competition, bake sale, raffle, or community coffee morning.”

She added that the campaign will help to raise funds that will make a difference.

“It’s a terrific campaign that supports hospices and home care services across the country and the perfect opportunity to host a fun get-together with friends, family, or colleagues, while raising much-needed funds for your local hospice.”

Registration for classes can be done at hospicecoffeemorning.ie, where lots of resources, recipes, and fundraising tips are also available. Once registered, classes will also receive a host pack which includes free Bewley’s coffee, posters, and collection boxes.
