MAYO will have a dozen players on the Connacht Women's squad looking to retain the Inter-Provincial U-18 title in the coming weeks. Head Coach, Craig Hansberry announced his 35-player squad for the series today and Mayo clubs are heavily represented with Ballina, Claremorris, Westport, Castlebar and Ballinrobe players all making the cut.
Ballina have five players in the squad while Claremorris have three, there will be two from Westport and one each from Ballinrobe and Castlebar.

Katie Gallagher, Evie Kennedy, Émer Collins, Emily Duffy and Beibhinn Gill are the Ballina players selected. Claremorris have Ruby Jennings, Grace Kelly and Aoife Heaney in the squad while, Westport are represented by Grace Kellett and Carla Palasz. Faith Durkin from Ballinrobe and Castlebar's Aine O'Connor bring the Mayo representation to 12.

Players from Connemara, Corrib, Creggs, Corinthians, Tuam/Oughterard, Ballinasloe, Gort/Monivea, Loughrea and Sligo are also included.

And for Connacht head coach Craig Hansberry Tuesday will be a return to his former club Ballinrobe RFC that he served as player/coach.

The opening game of the championship will see the girls in green travel to Newforge to take on Ulster on Saturday, August 17, followed by matches against Munster in Corinthian Park, Galway on August 24 before the round-robin series comes to a conclusion versus Leinster in Energia Park in Dublin a week later.

The finals day will take place on September 7 at a venue yet to be decided.
