Conor Heneghan wins first ever MODUS Super Series title

ROUNDFORT native Conor Heneghan will compete at the prestigious Series 7 Champions event after claiming his first ever MODUS Super Series weekly title.

After a tough qualifying group, Heneghan defeated both Danny Jansen and Justin Smith on a 4-3 scoreline before seeing off Carlo van Peer 4-2 in the semi-final.

Facing Andy Boulton in the final, Heneghan defied a 99 average from his opponent to win a deciding leg on double five.

He will now compete against the eleven other weekly winners for the jackpot of €25,000 in ten weeks’ time.

Speaking to The Mayo News (Monday), Heneghan said that he aims to compete at professional level in the future.

The Super Series is a weekly tournament featuring 12 players, who compete during the week to win a place in the finals group.

Heneghan has competed at the tournament on several previous occasions and scooped €4,500 in prize money for his win, which was streamed live on YouTube.
