Liam McHale is believed to be in the running for the vacant Mayo ladies manager position.
THE vacant managerial posts for the Mayo LGFA senior, minor and Under-16 teams will all be filled in the coming weeks.
Mayo LGFA chairman Des Phillips told The Mayo News on Monday evening that a number of applicants had applied for all three positions prior to last Friday evening’s deadline.
Former Mayo footballer Liam McHale is so far the only confirmed candidate for the senior position, which was vacated by Michael Moyles earlier this summer.
McHale’s former club-mate Dermot Flanagan will be part of his backroom team should he succeed in getting the job.
Philips, who stood down as Mayo LGFA minor manager earlier this summer, said Moyles’ successor would be ratified at next month’s County Board meeting.
“All jobs will be filled. We have really good applicants in and hopefully the interviews will be taking place on the weekend of September 30. We’re hoping to ratify someone at our county board meeting in October,” said the Kilmovee clubman, who is chairing the managerial appointments committee.
