Ruane and O’Hora back in Mayo team

McStay reveals All-Ireland quarter-final selection

Ruane and O’Hora back in Mayo team

Mayo manager Kevin McStay

MAYO have recalled midfielder Matthew Ruane and defender Padraig O’Hora for Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC quarter-final against Dublin.
Ruane was introduced as a second half substitute against Galway last weekend while O’Hora was not included in the match-day squad for the trip to Salthill due to illness.
If the team announced starts on Sunday, six players will have started all of Mayo’s six championship matches this summer: Colm Reape, Jack Coyne, Jack Carney, Jordan Flynn, Aidan O’Shea and Ryan O’Donoghue.
O’Shea, who celebrated his 33rd birthday yesterday (Thursday), is set to make his 84th championship appearance, which equals Andy Moran's Mayo record.
It would also place him joint sixth on the all-time list behind Stephen Cluxton, who has been named in the Dublin team for Sunday’s game; Sean Cavanagh, the O Sé brothers, Tomás and Marc and Colm Cooper.
Mayo manager Kevin McStay has named Cillian O’Connor on the bench, 12 years after he played in his first All-Ireland quarter-final against Cork.
O’Connor last started a competitive match for Mayo against Roscommon at the beginning of March and missed seven games in a row before coming on as a second half substitute against Galway last weekend.
Sunday’s game throws-in at 4pm at Croke Park with Mayo aiming to qualify for their 11th All-Ireland semi-final in 13 seasons.
