Representatives from both organisations explored ways to highlight the ease of travelling to North Mayo by public transport.

Mayo North Tourism recently met with representatives from Citylink to discuss opportunities to work together to promote North Mayo and raise awareness of the enhanced public transport connections serving the region.

The meeting follows Citylink’s recent expansion of services across Mayo, including additional services on the Galway–Ballina route and increased connectivity between Castlebar, Dublin and Dublin Airport.

Representatives from both organisations explored ways to highlight the ease of travelling to North Mayo by public transport, helping visitors access the area’s towns, villages, attractions, festivals and outdoor experiences.

Mairéad Melody Carr, Manager of Mayo North Tourism, said “Strong transport links are essential for the growth of tourism in North Mayo. As more visitors seek sustainable and convenient travel options, raising awareness of the excellent services available through Citylink presents a valuable opportunity for our destination and tourism businesses.”

As the primary public transport provider connecting Ballina, Foxford, Castlebar and North Mayo with Galway, Dublin and Dublin Airport, Citylink plays an increasingly important role in supporting tourism, regional connectivity and local communities.

The organisations look forward to continuing discussions and exploring collaborative opportunities that will help showcase North Mayo to a wider audience.
