Traffic disruptions expected in Mayo town due to safety barrier works

Mayo County Council safety barrier works will disrupt traffic on N60 in Ballyhaunis

Traffic disruption N60 in Ballyhaunis

Mayo County Council has announced that safety barrier works will be carried out under the railway bridge on the N60 at Abbeyquarter, Ballyhaunis, beginning Monday, March 30 and continuing through Wednesday, April 1.

During this period, temporary traffic management measures will be put in place to facilitate the works and ensure the safety of both road users and construction crews.

Motorists are being advised to expect delays, particularly during peak travel times, and to allow additional time for their journeys. Traffic flow may be slower than usual as lane restrictions or controlled access systems are implemented.

Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers are especially encouraged to consider alternative routes where possible in order to minimize congestion and avoid potential difficulties navigating the affected section of road.

Mayo County Council has thanked the public for their patience and cooperation while the essential works are carried out.
