The name Éabha has reclaimed its spot as the most popular girls' name in Mayo, according to fresh data from the Central Statistics Office.

The CSO data shows that the name has reclaimed the crown alongside Fiadh for 2025, knocking Amelia off the top spot from 2024.

Fiadh stays in the joint first place for the second year running.

There is no change from 2024 in the male charts, with new parents mostly opting for Rían for two years in succession, with the name overtaking 2023 chart-toppers Oisín and Cillian.

Other names to have topped the records in recent years are Isla and Jack.

For the first time in seven years, there is a new name at the top of the 'most popular' male names. Rian has also been named as the most-used boy's name nationwide, knocking Jack off the perch for the first time since 2018.

It was also a year of change in terms of the girls, as Lily overtook Sophie in 2025. Previous most used girls' names were Grace in 2023 and Emily in 2022.
