Students lead the way in designing new crest for Mayo National School

The 2024–2025 Student Council at Cross National School worked closely with pupils, families and staff to design a brand-new school crest that reflects the heart of our school. Together, the students shared ideas around friendship, respect, inclusion, a love of music and sport, and pride in our local community.

All children and families were invited to contribute ideas, and the Student Council carefully reviewed each one, identifying common themes that best represented life in Cross N.S. These ideas were shared with a design company, who created crest designs inspired by the students’ vision.

The current Sixth Class pupils are the first to proudly wear the new crest on their Sixth Class hoodies. We hope it reflects our long-standing traditions and values, while also having a modern feel that carries our school into the future. Pictured are members of the previous Student Council with the current council, who continue to be a strong student voice for their peers, helping to make Cross N.S. a warm, welcoming school community for every child, and Principal Catherine Presnail.
