Total of €217,741.96 available for Mayo in Local Enhancement Programme 2026
Community groups across Mayo are set to benefit from the Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2026, which will provide capital funding to support local initiatives, the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht has announced.
Mayo County Council have confirmed that the programme, funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, will make a total of €217,741.96 available for capital works in Mayo during 2026.
The funding will be allocated through the Mayo Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and is aimed particularly at supporting groups in disadvantaged areas.
The programme aims to assist community organisations in carrying out repairs and improvements to their facilities, as well as purchasing essential equipment. Eligible items include tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, awnings, and training equipment.
Funding under the scheme will be available in two categories: up to €1,000 for Category 1, and between €1,001 and €2,000 for Category 2.
Mayo County Council have emphasised that only fully completed applications, accompanied by the required supporting documentation, will be considered. Applicants are advised to read the scheme guidelines and terms and conditions carefully before submitting their applications.
All applications must be submitted online through the LEP portal, available here.
The closing date for submissions is Friday, 27 February 2026, at 3pm. Late applications will not be accepted.
The Local Enhancement Programme 2026 is part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to support grassroots community initiatives, improve local facilities, and strengthen the social and cultural fabric of communities throughout Mayo.
