The collision on the N17 has resulted in a one-lane closure which is set to last until the afternoon

An Garda Síochána are at the scene of the collision near Ireland West Airport.

A person has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries in the wake of a two-vehicle collision in Mayo this morning (Monday, December 15).

The incident, which occurred at around 8.30 am, took place on the N-17 at Lurga, just outside Charlestown.

The crash was close to the turn-off for Ireland West Airport, Knock.

At present, An Garda Síóchána are at the scene, where the busy route is down to one lane. Traffic management is in place, with delays expected as a result.
