CSO estimates Mayo workers earn 7.6 percent more than national average

Those aged 40-49 earn an average of €52,610, while those aged 50-59 bring in an average of €51,416

CSO estimates Mayo workers earn 7.6 percent more than national average

The figures were released by the Central Statistics Office.

According to new CSO data released on annual earnings in 2024, working individuals in Mayo earn an average of €47,575, varying significantly depending on age.

The highest incomes are recorded among those in their 40s and 50s. Those aged 40-49 earn an average of €52,610, while those aged 50-59 bring in an average of €51,416.

With women earning an average of €47,498 and men earning €58,128 in this age group, men in Mayo are the highest paid of all age groups and are earning 20 percent more than women in this age group.  

The CSO estimates the national average annual salary to be €44,202. In comparison, workers in Mayo earn 7.6% more than this national average.
