Mayo train services set for extremely busy schedule next week due to Ploughing Championship

With the National Ploughing Championships taking place in Tullamore, train services to and from Mayo are set to be very busy

Mayo train services set for extremely busy schedule next week

Train users are urged to book their tickets as soon as possible with extra demand on services expected.

Train Services to and from Mayo are expected to be extremely busy next week as the National Ploughing Championships takes place in Screggan, Tullamore, Co Offaly.

Iarnród Éireann is advising customers that services to and from Mayo next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, September 16, 17 and 18 are expected to be extremely busy. 

The majority of services on Tuesday and Wednesday are already sold out with some limited availability on Thursday.

Those not in possession of a valid reservation will not be permitted to travel. Tickets can be purchased at irishrail.ie or by calling 01 8366222. 

Bus Éireann are operating a connecting bus service from Tullamore station to the site of the National Ploughing Championships. This can be purchased as an add to the train ticket online.

The Ploughing Championships are set to take place on September 16, 17 and 18 with a huge crowds expected at the popular annual event.
