The winning National Lottery ticket, which was purchased by a Mayo person, totals €17,008,295
One lucky Mayo person is waking up a cool €17 million richer this morning, after it was revealed that someone in the county has purchased a blockbuster winning Lotto Jackpot ticket.
The winning ticket, to the value of €17,008,295, was purchased online on Wednesday evening, August 29.

The lucky winner becomes the third-highest winner of all time.
The win also means that two of the three highest amounts have come from within the county, with the largest Jackpot winner of all time, totalled at €19,060,800, being purchased in Laura’s XL on Hopkins Road in Castlebar on January 15, 2022.
The winning numbers are 2, 6, 20, 22, 26, 39, and the Bonus Ball was 5.
Anyone who purchased a Lotto Jackpot ticket is advised to check their invoices, as they have received a notification, as well as an email informing them of their big win.
The lucky winner should contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie.
Daragh O’Dwyer, a spokesman for the National Lottery, expressed his delight at the news that someone in the county has won big.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that the third largest Lotto jackpot ever, an eye-watering €17,008,295, has been won by an online player in Mayo,” he stated.
“While the county might still be waiting for Sam to come home, it has returned two of the 3 largest Lotto jackpot wins since 1988.”
