Met Éireann issued the warning for Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo, with the alert coming into effect from 6 pm today (Wednesday, August 27)
The people of Mayo are being advised to take care over the next two days, as Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for the county.
The warning for heavy rainfall was issued at earlier today (Wednesday, August 27), will come into effect at 6pm this evening, lasting until 24 hours from then at 6pm on Thursday, August 28.

It is expected that heavy downpours will take place across the county, coupled with the potential for thunderstorms.
Motorists and pedestrians have been warned of the potential for poor visibility, with localised flooding (such as what was seen in Kiltimagh earlier this year) also a possibility.
Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Galway, and Clare have also been placed under the advisory.
