Rent prices in Mayo have undergone a significant hike in the last twelve months, according to data collected by property site Daft.
The data, compiled by the property group, shows that the price of renting a property in the county has gone up 5.8 percent in the second quarter of 2025 from the same period a year previously.
On average, it costs €1,415 per month to rent a home, up 93 percent from the price of renting a property prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The most notable price rise was that of a five-bed house. On average, rent for a five-bed home in Mayo costs €1,514, a 12.9 per cent rise on 2024.
Renting a four-bed home costs an average of €1,340 (a 7.3 percent increase), a three-bed house brings in an average rent of €1,212 (up 5.3 percent on 2024).
Average rent on a two-bedroom property is €1,047, representing a 6.3 per cent hike, while a one-bed apartment will set you back on average €895, up eight percent on 2024.
Nationally, rents have risen by 6.9 percent in the last twelve months, with the average home costing approximately €2,055 per month.
