The water will be off from approximately 10:00 to 15:00 to facilitate this work.
Minister Dara Calleary has been informed that the works on the upgrade of the existing Johnstown/Lavallyroe water mains is ready to be transferred to Uisce Eireann.
“Uisce Eireann has informed me that works on the upgrade of existing water mains are ready to be transferred to Irish Water. The Taking in Charge of the scheme by Irish Water has reached a stage where Uisce Eireann will be changing from the existing spring supply to an Irish Water supply. It is planned to make the changeover to the new water supply on Thursday, August 21 2025,” he said.
“The water will be off from approximately 10:00 to 15:00 to facilitate this work and Uisce Eireann have advised to allow time for the supply to return to the entire scheme.
There will still be a Boil water Notice in place. This is a positive development for the Group Water Scheme and I look forward to a safe, reliable source of water supply being available to all residents,” he said.
