Two Mayo music groups have happily received an investment of funds in the latest batch of government grants.
The groups were allocated funds of €2,000 and €1,000 as part of the Non-Mainstream Music Education Bursary grants.
The grants exist to supply important funding to music groups throughout the county and beyond.

Bofield CCE was the first group to receive funding. The organisation, founded in 1995, is based in North Mayo and offers traditional music classes and tutors céilí bands.
Partry Community Kids Music Group is the other organisation. The group aims to teach children musical skills in the Partry area.
Nationally, 37 groups were awarded funds as part of the scheme.
Minister for State, Alan Dillon, moved to welcome the allocation of the funds.
“It is very important that our young people in Mayo can access opportunities which allow them to express themselves, nurture their creativity and skills, and support their wellbeing and ability to make friends,” he stated.
“I want to acknowledge the commitment of the organisations and the many volunteers who give their time and skills to work with young musicians, providing them with valuable opportunities to explore their full potential.”
