Local charity, Mayo Cancer Support Association (Rock Rose House) will host an information night on a planned new men’s cancer support group at 7pm on Tuesday evening, May 20th.

The new initiative is aimed at men who have or is going through cancer themselves or are supporting a loved one who has cancer. It will also be open to men who have experienced a cancer related bereavement.

Led by an experienced professional, the group will facilitate a safe space to talk, share experiences and find understanding in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where members can gain insight from peers who have gone through a similar cancer experience.

On the night, all discussion will be informal but at the same time, confidential as members can share concerns / emotions that they may feel unable to express elsewhere.

Attendance on the night will determine if there’s enough interest to make this support group a reality and build a community of men supporting each other through one of life’s toughest challenges.

While the support group itself will be for men, you are welcome to bring a friend or partner with you to the information night, if you would like.

All are welcome to attend the information night in Rock Rose House, 32 St Patrick’s Ave, Castlebar (F23 P659) at 7pm on Tuesday May 20th.

If you would like to attend or require further information, call Mayo Cancer Support on 094 90 38407 or email info@mayocancersupport.ie
