Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation is delighted to announce that Hospice Sunflower Days will be returning for it’s 35th year next month. With the on-street collection taking place on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, Hospice Sunflower Days ambassadors Miriam O’Callaghan and Jenny McCarthy were on hand to officially launch this year’s campaign alongside Laragh Mc Guinness (7) from Kiltimagh.
As well as the on-street collection, the public can also support Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation by donating online throughout the month of June at www.sunflowerdays.ie. Every euro raised locally, stays locally as the donation will go directly to The Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation.
The funds raised play a vital role in supporting the delivery of specialist palliative care in communities across Ireland. Hospice and specialist palliative homecare services provide free of charge care and support to those living with a life-limiting illness, whilst also helping and supporting the patient’s family members. The funds raised will be used to fund Palliative care services in the community and in Mayo and Roscommon hospices.
Speaking at the launch of the 2025 Hospice Sunflower Days campaign, Martina Jennings, CEO of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation said: “We are thrilled to launch the 35th Hospice Sunflower Days campaign. We rely so much on the public’s support which allow us to continue to provide our vital services. We are calling on everyone from Mayo, Roscommon and beyond to donate what they can, either on-street or on-line this June, as every euro raised locally, stays locally and really does make a big difference at a local level.”
Hospice Sunflower Days Ambassador, Miriam O’Callaghan commented: “The Hospice Sunflower Days campaign is one I am absolutely delighted to support as I have seen first-hand the fantastic work and care that hospices and homecare services provide to patients and families all across the country. With hospices needing to raise approximately €20 million each year to continue to provide their specialist care, it is so important for the public to show their support by donating on-street or on-line during this year’s campaign
