An Garda Síochana Mayo have issued a statement in the wake of a series of multi-agency checkpoints around the county.
The checkpoints were a collaboration between the RSA, social welfare, customs, and the Garda Immigration Unit.

During the inspections, one motorist was arrested on suspicion of drug driving following the detection of cocaine in their system.
Separately, a number of HGVs were found to have bald tyres, as well as instances where Certificate of Professional Competence cards were not up to date.
Yesterday’s searches came on the eve of National Slow Down Day, where there will be increased enforcement of speeding laws.
