Former Mayo footballer Rob Hennelly welcomes new son

Former Mayo goalkeeper Rob Hennelly, his wife Orla Lorenza, and their son Charlie

Former Mayo goalkeeper Rob Hennelly has welcomed his first son into the world.

The Breaffy native and his partner, Orla Lorenza, welcomed their first child, Charlie, in recent days.

Announcing the news on his Instagram page, Mr Hennelly said: “Words can’t describe how proud of I am of [Orla Lorenza] - best day of my life.”

Mr Hennelly retired from senior intercounty football last December aged 34 after making 43 league and 32 senior championship appearances for Mayo.

He played club football for Breaffy for most of his life before transferring to Raheny in Dublin, where he has lived and worked for a number of years. He is currently employed as Head of Commercial Enablement at CarTrawler.
