A total of 805 units were commenced in Mayo in 2024, the highest figure in the past ten years. Of these, were one-off units. In the same year, Mayo County Council approved 835 units, up from 434 approvals the previous year.

Earlier this week, the local authority gave the green light for a 27-unit development at Mayfield, Claremorris, comprising 18 three-bedroomed semi-detached units, four two-bedroomed semi-detached units, and three three-bedroomed detached units.
