Mayo TD Keira Keogh welcomed the announcement of the funding for Agricultural Shows in Mayo.
Mayo Fine Gael TD Keira Keogh has welcomed the announcement by Minister Jerry Buttimer and Minister Dara Calleary of over €1 million in funding for 123 Agricultural Shows nationwide, including several Mayo-based events. The funding will be administered through the Irish Shows Association (ISA), ensuring vital support for local committees as they prepare for the upcoming show season.
The breakdown of Mayo shows receiving the €80,060 are:

“These shows are not just for farmers and breeders, but for entire rural communities” said Deputy Keogh. “They celebrate our heritage, showcase local produce, and bring people together.”
Keogh also highlighted the Westport Horse Show, which holds special significance for her family: “My grandfather, Jimmy Noonan, was a founding member of the Westport Horse Show, and I know first-hand how much effort goes into organising these events. They are a highlight in the rural Ireland calendar, and I am delighted to see continued investment in them,” she added.
