Leading food and fuel retailer, Corrib Oil has today announced that it is to open a new convenience store and service station on Killala Road, Ballina, Co Mayo, creating 50 new full and part-time jobs in the locality.

The new Ballina site, which will open in early Summer, will be Corrib Oil’s 42nd convenience store nationally and marks a significant further investment by the Mayo-founded company in the county. A dedicated recruitment campaign has now been launched to fill a range of roles including Assistant Site Manager, Shift Managers, Deli Manager, Deli Supervisor, Store Assistants and Deli Assistants. The modern new development will feature a full Corrib Deli offering fresh, high-quality food options for customers, alongside a spacious convenience retail store. The site will also include a large solar panel system installed on the roof of the building and canopy, reinforcing Corrib Oil’s commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable operations.

The forecourt will offer a comprehensive fuel solution, including HVO and AdBlue, which will be available both on the main forecourt and at a dedicated truck stop pump. A truck fill pump will also be installed on site. In addition, the location will provide one double EV charger in partnership with ePower, supporting the continued growth of electric vehicle use in the region.

Announcing the new Ballina development, Gillian Morris, Head of Retail, Corrib Oil, said: “This is very positive news for Ballina and for Mayo. As a company founded in the county, we are proud to continue expanding our retail network here. The Killala Road location will deliver 50 new jobs and a high-quality retail and forecourt offering for the local community and passing traffic alike.

Corrib Oil has continued to grow its retail footprint nationwide in recent years, with a focus on modern, efficient sites that combine convenience, food and fuel offerings in one accessible location. The Ballina store forms part of the company’s broader expansion strategy as it works towards significantly increasing its national presence by 2030. Further details regarding the official opening date will be announced in the coming period.
