In a statement, the Council's dog warden informed owners of the rules and potential risks of a lack of control of dogs around the peak season for farmers

Mayo Council issue warning to dog owners before lambing season

Mayo County Council have issues an appeal to dog owners to keep control of their dogs in a responsible manner around livestock in the wake of lambing season.

Every year during lambing season, there is a spike in reports made of issues by which sheep or lambs are killed during the period, posing stress to both animals and farmers.

Now, with the season on the way, Mayo County Council have released a video from Dog Warden Laura Mulligan, who spoke of the laws and liabilities surrounding unleashed dogs.
