Mayo TDs Alan Dillon and Dara Calleary will have a busy St Patrick’s Day in 2025, as they will be packing their bags and heading stateside to represent the country.
For Minister for Social Protection, Rural and Community Development, Dara Calleary (Fianna Fáil), it’s a trip to Georgia, as he heads to the cities of Atlanta and Savannah to join in the festivities.

Meanwhile, Alan Dillon, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (Fine Gael) will make the journey to the US state of Utah, as well as crossing over into Canada to see those in Vancouver.
Further details on the plans of Ministers Dillon and Calleary’s plans for their visits stateside have not yet been revealed.
In total, government officials are heading to over 90 different cities across the globe as part of this tradition to mark the country’s national holiday.

Nine ministers will be in America for the day, with Taoiseach Micheál Martin expected to be in the White House for a meeting with Donald Trump.
The trip for those heading to the States is expected to be used to reaffirm the trillion-euro value of US-Ireland economic relations.
