Mayo homes named as some of the cheapest in Ireland for
Recent analysis has revealed that Mayo ranks amongst the cheapest counties in Ireland to buy a home in 2025.
Whilst it may be difficult for first-time home buyers to get a foot on the property ladder, Mayo buyers can take solace in the fact that their properties feature low in this list.

Mayo sits at number seven in the standings, with the average property price in the county sitting at around €222,000.
Prices around the country are skyrocketing, with market values over doubling in the last decade and hitting new buyers’ pockets hard.
However, according to research from Chill Insurance, good fortunes are projected, with growths of around 0.67% anticipated by 2030.

The average deposit required for a property in the county is €22,244, meaning it would take the general prospective owner around four and a half years to save for a deposit.
The West features heavily in the list, with neighbours Roscommon sitting fourth. Fellow Connacht men Leitrim rank as the cheapest, with homes costing €186,000.
Sligo also sits high at number nine, while the top three is rounded out by Longford in second and Donegal in third place.
